How to set up TimeSlice to automatically track applications and/or application windows. Example: you have TextEdit listed in the auto-track window. TimeSlice is running with Auto-Tracking active. When TextEdit is brought to the front of all other applications, TimeSlice automatically starts tracking time, and includes the application and window name with the time record. Bring another application to the front, and TimeSlice stops tracking.
Usually the default parameters are fine.
This will allow you to set up Auto Tracking parameters.
Click the + button to select an application or window. If you select a window, the application that can open the window is automatically set. Select an application if you want TimeSlice to auto-track whenever the application is the front application. Select a window if you want TimeSlice to auto-track only that application's window.
Click START Auto Tracking to start auto-tracking. TimeSlice must remain running, but you can have TimeSlice windows open.
Click STOP Auto Tracking to stop auto-tracking.
Notes:
It is best to not use auto-tracking if you are going to manually start and stop time records.
If you find TimeSlice not auto-tracking some applications, increase the "Application launch delay time" in the Auto Tracking preferences.
